I love completing the Active Challenge and have manged to encourage 25 of our Commercial team to get involved. It's a great way to remain positive and help your mental health. I did have to rest up for most of June unfortunately due to a twisted knee injury but I did manage to squeeze in a 5K and a 10K run along with my daily shorted walks. Thanks Cornwall Active Challenge Team!

I'm training for a 64 mile coast path run, 'The Plague.' I've enjoyed being able to log my runs to see how far I've got each week.

I’ve been enjoying the Cornwall Active Travel Challenge every day this June. Walking, narrowboating, cycling, car sharing, kayaking and trains travelling a total of 1124 miles and saving a massive 221kg of CO2. I'll continue the good work and have planned to collect my car post service by walking the 2 miles tomorrow there instead of getting a lift by car!

Unusually swapping my working at home desk for some work and leisure trips out of county I opted for trains. More restful than driving and saved a massive 152.02 CO2 over 3 days.

About 18 months ago I had a spectacular mountain bike crash whilst undertaking a fundraising cycling trip in the Nepali Himalayas. I broke my back in 2 places, broke my sternum, damaged my lungs and contracted pneumonia. After surgery in Bangkok and two weeks in intensive care I was flown back to the UK.

My recovery has been excellent but my return to doing regular exercise not so excellent ;-) So when my colleague Christiana from the Growth Hub started haranguing me to join the Active Challenge it seemed like a good opportunity to overcome my reluctance to get back on my bike. And it's worked brilliantly!

I really love the bus. Very relaxing- I just turn off, open my book and stick some music on.

Celebrating this morning. My personal challenge was to get up Fetcherbridge Hill without getting off my bike.

Today I may have had a couple of pauses, but more importantly I didn't get off and walk. Challenge complete!

This is the start of using cycling or walking as my main form of transport. My car went last week as it was a motorbility vehicle but did to bereavement it’s now gone.

It’s a learning curve regarding managing my energy levels.

Bring on more dry days please

Evening walks in this sunshine are the bliss.

Useful use of time and tide on the weekly commute! Carbon neutral kayaking and picked up some litter on the way…

Yesterday, instead of doing my usual 10 minute drive to the shops for guinea pig food, I decided to go on a walk and pick some (dandelions) myself!

Busy two weeks of cycling and walking

Hopefully I can keep it going

So this morning I commuted to work on the bicycle with a beautiful sunrise.

After a long draining shift and looking forward to getting home I discover I have a puncture… commute home becomes a run and although very hot and sticky it cleared the head and was just as nice. Tomorrow we tackle the puncture 😂

Wow I have so loved getting everyone involved out walking , no matter of abilities. Walking is easy for all.

I have challenged myself up bigger hills and feel fitter

I've found the extra motivation of this challenge great to help keep active and to think about how I make my journeys and I've been going for post diner walks too which has been lovely and I hope to continue. Thanks!

Looking forward to the last week of the challenge. I work from home but it’s really made me think about all my journeys. All journeys within 4 miles have featured walking or cycling. I’ve car shared far more including with 4 others this weekend saving CO2 and money!

I’ve been active every day this month. Walking, narrowboating, cycling, car sharing and kayaking have all featured. Last night I even shared a tractor journey for the first time!

I normally work from home so don’t commute into work often. When we have our team days in Truro, I like to catch the bus! Living in Newquay, the bus can take longer than driving in to Truro, but I like to use this time to sit back and catch up on my favourite podcasts. I normally get stressed driving, especially in rush hour, so being able to sit back and enjoy my journey prepares me for the workday and winds me down on my journey home.

I also love going for a lunchtime walk around the lanes outside my house for a dose of fresh air!

An accidental cycle home after locking my van in the park and ride. Actually loved the cycle home as the sun was setting.

took the train to Falmouth last Saturday with the family instead of driving. my kids loved the experience of the Truro to Falmouth line. we went all the way to the docks and then walked back to the town, visited the National Maritime museum and and had hot chocolate before returning. great day out
